Woolen tunic with embroidery

Decorated Viking tunic made of brown woolen fabric  (80%). Shape based on a find from Birka (Sweden), 8th-9th cent. Made of two rectangles and with square-shaped wedges under the armpits and wedges on the sides. The fabric has been washed before sewing. Inside stitches are machine, every visible stitches are made by hand. In front of the tunic are two, large hand made embroideries made with woolen threads, sized 19 cm x 9 cm. Motif from embroidery comes from stone found in Uppland, Sweden. The cuffs and lower edge are bordered with tablet braid with solar motifs. Tablet is made from 30% woolen thred, 70% acrylic and 2 cm wide. 

Large size: length of tunic 103 cm, width 60 cm, length of sleeves 58 cm, width of sleeves 16 cm, height of wedges 54 cm.
