More info
The shape of the hood is based on a find from Skjoldehamn on the Norwegian island Angoya. It's made with two rectangles sewn to each other on top of the head. In the front and back two square wedges were set in, here in different size. Sewn high under the throat to protect from wind and cold. Hood made of brown wool. The inside was sewn with a machine, every visible stitch is hand made with brown linen thread. Two embriodery, one in front, one at back side. The embroideries were made with woolen threads, sized 13 cm x 19 cm. The embroidery’s motif probably is "Tree of life". Length of hood 64 cm, wide 40 cm.
