Hello,
My name is Angelika Strycka. Othala Craft was born out of a passion for Viking history.
My hand sewing skills combined with 'studying' historical materials relating to the Viking Age have resulted in the first Viking clothing which has gained acclaim from reenactors around the world. For years I have travelled to history markets, where my costumes have found an audience that loves the stories of early medieval Europe.
Othala Craft focuses on costumes from the Viking and Slavic periods, I focus on the 8th - 9th centuries. I mostly make Viking garb based on finds from Hedeby ( Haithabu), Birka, Borre, Oseberg, Sutton Hoo as well as Byzantine iconography. Recently I have also taken an interest in barbaricum, which is equally fascinating.
As a craftsman, I have also been recognised by clients playing Viking Larp and Viking cosplay. Some of the most popular costume items include tunics, dresses, trousers (pants), hats or hoods. Welcome to my world!
