Viking hat with motif from a Scandinavian buckle

Beautiful hat made in four wedges, every visible stitch is hand made with linen thread. Made of violet wool with a lining of linen on the inside. The embroidery sized 10cm x 13cm was made with linen thread on linen fabric, which was also decorated with a stripe of gold silk. The embroidery’s motif is from a Scandinavian buckle. This type of hats has been worn both in Scandinavia and in Slavic areas. 

The girth measure on the inside is 59 cm. The hat is finished with fur from a forest fox’s tail.
