More info
Eastern style hat in shape of a triangle ideal for Viking man. Made of grey wool (95%) with a lining (100%) of linen on the inside. This style has been worn in some parts of Scandinavia (especially Sweden) and in Russia. The embroidery motif was inspired by one of the rune stones found in Sweden dating back to the Viking Age.
The embroidery sized 24 cm x 6 cm ( 4,7 x 7,4 inch). The circumference from the inside is 58 cm (22,83 inches), the length of the cap is 40 cm (15.75 inches).
The hat is finished with fur from a fox’s tail. The cap is trimmed with fox tail fur. Caps of this type may have been worn in the Viking Age and it is likely that a distinctive triangular end of bronze or silver was sewn onto the end. This style was worn in parts of Scandinavia (especially Sweden) and Russia. Only silver and bronze tips of such caps have been preserved in finds. The silver brooch is not for sale.
