Viking age women SILK & LINEN Headband with scarf

Headbands were popular during the Viking Age. Often, small pieces of fabric were found near the temples in the finds of women's graves. The ‘earflaps’ could be sewn to the headband. It is a beautiful element of women's costume from the early Middle Ages. Most have been found in the graves of eastern Slavs, where we also find a Viking influence. 

The headband is made of 100% linen in burgundy, decorated with double layers of 100% silk: purple and woven in a pattern of ancient silk. Earflaps on the sides.  

Comes with a cream-coloured fine linen head wrap, all hand hemmed, measuring 80cm x 120cm ( 31,50 in x 47, 24 in ).
