Simple T-tunic made of 100 % woolen fabric in brown color. Soft for skin, medium thickness. Shape based on a find from Birka (Sweden), 8th-9th cent. Made of two rectangles and with square-shaped wedges under the armpits and wedges on the sides. Similar patterns were used in both the Skjoldehamn and Kragelund tunics, they are characteristic for early medieval tunics. As we do not have exact sources for the cut of tunics from the Vendel era, it is likely that a simple short square-based tunic was already in use earlier. Tunic trimmed in fine wool with a diamond weave, common in both the Viking and pre-Viking eras. Hand embroidery on the front, the motif is from a Sutton Hoo boat burial, dated to the Vendel period. Fabric has been washed before sewing. Tunic should be washed in 30 C. Inside stitches are machine, every visible stitches are made by hand with linen threads.
Size : length of tunic 103 cm, width 68 cm x 2, length of sleeves 60 cm, width of sleeves 18 cm, length of wedges 52 cm.
