Woolen Viking tunic with embroidery

Decorated Viking shirt made of beige wool (95%). Clearly structured wool, medium thickness. Shape based on a find from Viking area Birka (Sweden), 8th-9th cent. Made of two rectangles and with square-shaped wedges under the armpits and cut at the sides. Fabric has been washed before sewing. The embroideries were made with plant dyed woolen threads, sized 7 cm x 33 cm. The motif of embroidery comes from detail from base plate of drum brooch, Tandgrave, Sweeden. The tunic will complement the Viking outfit. Inside stitches are machine, every visible stitches are made by hand. The sleeves are trimmed with blue diamond weave wool, the wool has been vegetable dyed using indigo.

Size: length of tunic 102cm / 40,60 in, width 60 cm x 2 / 23,62 in x 2, length of sleeves 58 cm / 22,83 in, width of sleeves 15 cm / 5,91 in, height of wedge 53 cm / 20,87 in. Shirt should be hand washed in 30C.
