Beautiful dress, made of woolen fabric in a tabby pattern, thinner wool ( 98% wool, 2 % addition). Soft and pleasant wool to the touch. Simple geometric cut based on a T shape, with a light undercut in the armpit. The cut of dress is based on found from Haithabu (Hedeby). The sleeves narrow towards the wrist. The dress has two wedges; one at each side. Every visible stitch is hand made with a linen thread, inside stitches are machine. Half circle undercut. Wool was washed before sewing.
On the front of the dress, two extensive embroideries, handmade with naturally dyed wool threads (100%). The threads have been dyed in indigo. The embroidery motif was inspired by one of the rune stones found in Sweden dating back to the Viking Age. Size of one embroidery 26cm x7cm.
Size: S, length of dress: 138 cm (54,33 in), width under the armpit x2: 48 cm (18,9 in), width in belt x2: 49 cm (19,29 in), width in hips: 52 cm (20,47 in), length of sleeves: 57 cm (22,44 in), width of sleeves: 13 cm (5,12 in), wedge: 97 cm (38,19 in). Size of dress is similar for clothes size: 36/38.
