Headbands were popular during the Viking Age. Small pieces of fabric were often found near the temples in women's graves. The ‘earflaps’ could be sewn to the headband. It is a beautiful element of women's costume from the early Middle Ages. Most have been found in the graves of the eastern Slavs, where we also find a Viking influence.
The headband is made of 100% linen in dark orange, decorated with an orange layer of hand-woven 100% silk. The earflaps on the sides are also made of silk.
Length of headband 103 cm (40,55 in), band width 3 cm (1,18 in).
Silver and gold elements and the scarf are not included in the sale.
