Headbands were popular during the Viking Age. Often small fragments of cloth were found near the temples in the finds of women's graves. The ‘earflaps’ could be sewn to the headband. It is a beautiful element of women's costume from the early Middle Ages. Most have been found in the graves of eastern Slavs, where we also find a Viking influence.
The headband is made of natural linen, decorated with two layers of silk in brown and woven red silk. Earlets on the sides.
