Description

Decorated Viking tunic made of dark blue color of linen (100%). Shape based on a find from Birka (Sweden), 8th-9th cent. Made of two rectangles and with square-shaped wedges under the armpits and wedges on the sides.

The fabric has been washed before sewing. Inside stitches are machine, every visible stitches are made by hand. In front of the tunic are two, large hand made embroideries made with linen threads, sized 20 cm x 14 cm ( 7,87 inch x 5,51 inch). Motif from embroidery comes from carved stone form Isle of Mann. The Ringerike Great Beast developed from the Mammen period.

Size: XXL, length of tunic: 104 cm (40,94 in), width x 2: 64 cm (25,20 in), length of sleeves: 58 cm (22,83 in), width of sleeves: 17 cm (6,69 in), width of wedges: 48 cm (18,90 in), split under neck: 7 cm (2,76 in).
