Hat made of 100% thicker, grey wool in herring bone, making it the perfect hat for cold days. Wool was hand weaved. Hat has six wedges, based on findings (Birka). Every visible stitch is hand made with linen thread. Half lining of 100% linen on the inside.
This type of cap is known from iconography from the Viking times. Based on fabric fragments, it can be deduced that this type of cap was known in Scandinavia and the Baltic countries during the early Middle Ages. It is an basic part of the Vikingu2019s outfit, it protected from the cold of the wind but also from the sun.
