Hat for Viking with tablet braid

Pointed hat with fur. Made of dark red and olive green herringbone weave wool (100%), with a half lining (100%) of linen on the inside.

The circumference from the inside is 60.50 cm (23.62 inches), the length of the cap is 40 cm (15.75 inches).

The cap is trimmed with fox tail fur. Caps of this type may have been worn in the Viking Age and it is likely that a distinctive triangular end of bronze or silver was sewn onto the end. This style was worn in parts of Scandinavia (especially Sweden) and Russia. Only silver and bronze tips of such caps have been preserved in finds. The silver brooch is not for sale.
