More info
Headbands were popular during the Viking Age. Often, small pieces of fabric were found near the temples in the finds of women's graves. The ‘earflaps’ could be sewn to the headband. It is a beautiful element of women's costume from the early Middle Ages. Most have been found in the graves of eastern Slavs, where we also find a Viking influence.
The headband is made of 100% crab-coloured linen, decorated with two layers of 100% purple silk and woven red-gold brocade silk. Earlets on the sides.
